西北最大的工业城市，曾统管4个省，地位比西安还高

从古代丝绸之路到今天的亚欧大陆桥，整个西北一直为我国陆域贸易最发达的地区。而西安作为西北老大哥，其在历史上多次站在世界之巅，至今仍为世界四大古都之首。除此，兰州作为西北交通枢纽，为实打实的西北第2大城市。

兰州坐拥着西北最为独特的地理位置，可自兰州西进青藏新疆，北上宁夏蒙古，东进陕西中原，南下川渝。西安虽然布局了米字型的交通枢纽，但在区位方面远远不如兰州。同时，兰州在建国后大力发展重工业，至今仍为西北第一大工业城市。

早些年，兰州的天空始终是灰蒙蒙的感觉，一年之中几乎少有蓝天白云。而那段岁月，正是兰州工业发展最迅速的时候。但同时，由于兰州重工业发展带来的影响。整个兰州城变得不再适宜人类居住，人才流失、水质污染等问题日渐严重。

尤其在这个建设绿色海绵呼吸城市的时代，兰州这种工业城市注定要落幕。这不，曾以石油化工著称天下的西固城，现如今已在转型的路上越走越远，同时各大工厂逐渐搬离至更远的郊区。想当然，兰州正在改头换面，为争霸西北做充足的准备。

在GDP为王的世代，兰州貌似十分尴尬，不但无法抗衡西安，还被乌鲁木齐、宝鸡压得喘不过气来。但话又说回来，兰州的区位永远会扶持其至少保持西北第2大城市的地位，无论是未来还是早已被岁月埋没的古代。

兰州的真正崛起在清朝时期，清朝康熙五年陕甘分治，设甘肃行省，省会由巩昌迁至兰州。至此，兰州一跃成为甘肃第一大城市兼政治金融中心。当时的兰州，辖今甘肃、新疆、青海、宁夏4个省区大部分范围。

当时，作为西北千年老大哥的西安，也仅仅管辖着今陕西一个省。更何况，由于西北边陲的安危，兰州一跃成为中国西部最重要的军政中心。包括左宗棠收复新疆、收复阿古柏侵占的天山南北诸地、与沙俄军队的抗衡等，均是以兰州为大本营。

而西安在清朝时期，更多的是充当着西北各省通往北京的“驿站”，由此，兰州在清朝的地位可比西安高多了。但无论如何，兰州仍落后于大多数城市一大步，奋进追赶才是真正的王道。加油，兰州
